Ol' Philip Bennett Walker is a lot more than Elizabeth’s husband. He’s her business partner, travel companion, confidant, fur baby daddy, and best friend.
This power couple met each other in 2001 in Aspen, Colorado and immediately fell for one another. Their artistic minds brought them together, as their first conversation revolved around them both being artists, and wanting to change the world from their own creative standpoints.
I've only known Philip for just over three years, but after hearing his tales of life and meeting his family and friends, I can tell just why everyone loves this guy so much.
He's probably the best storyteller in the world, with the most animated details and characters, you just know he's had quite the rollercoaster of a life.
This blog is 100% dedicated to him and his love for art, life, and celebrating the power of friendship.
So, since it'd be weird for me to keep writing about him, Elizabeth got in on this to give you all a better perspective on Phily Walker and their life together.
Philip is a 5th generation Floridian. He's super proud of his ancestral history and Florida roots.
He also loves all kinds of history and learning. Like the saying goes, he knows a little bit about a lot. You can find him at any time in his studio with the history channel or documentaries playing in the background while he's painting.
He can never sit still, which is a good thing. We both motivate each other and like to keep busy even when we're not working. We always have a project or idea on the back burner for home renovations, travel, or business.
Advice his parents gave us was to always have something to look forward to. Whether it be a trip, concert or event, these are words we've lived by. We fully incorporate this idea into our life and marriage, and I have to say it's done us well for the past fifteen years.
Philip thrives for social events and connecting with people, especially when traveling. The joy it brings him is so fulfilling to see and witness alongside him.
His love for Sue is like no other. The two of them fall asleep the same way every night: with her leg always having to touch him.
He's also the only one our cat, Shelby, will sleep on, with their faces nearly touching by the time its morning.
Our household is always filled with good tunes and even better vibes. We crack each other up. We usually get on a pretty good roll going back and forth being silly until all we're doing is laughing uncontrollably. I usually have to tell him to stop before I pee my pants or he pees his.
His loyalty to his family and friends is like no other. He's extremely giving and wants to be known for this, if anything. He'll give anyone the shirt off his back, just for me to yell at him for having to go out and buy another shirt afterwards.
Philip and I have always helped each other with work, and it's always been a mutual understanding that never had to be a discussion. One of the reasons we can work from home together is that we understand the importance of each other's career and the joy it brings us, and has allowed us to fully support our lifestyle.
Whether Philip needs extra hands to put down layers of paint or tape off sections of canvas, or I need photographs taken of certain designs, we never feel obligated to help one another. Instead we understand what each other’s jobs take and are always willing to lend support and encouragement.
We've always believed in each others dreams, and continue to make it work. Life is filled with peaks and valleys, and I'm just happy to go through it with this guy by my side.
We didn't have to write about Philip, but we love him so much and all he does for us. We want the world to know who this dude is and how important he is to us all. We love you!
