1731 - Coin Necklace

$365.00

The Mercury dime is a ten-cent coin that was minted by the United States from 1916 to 1945. It is also known as the Winged Liberty Head dime and is popular with collectors due to its artistic design and symbolism.

The coin is made of 90% Silver and 10% Copper, and contains just over .072 troy ounces of Silver.

The coin was originally thought to depict the Roman Goddess Mercury (the Goddess of Commerce), but is actually a personification of Liberty. The wings on her cap symbolize "Liberty of Thought".

The reverse side features a fasces, which is a bundle of rods tied around an axe, and an olive branch. The fasces represents authority and unity, while the olive branch represents peace.

All coins are electroplated with 24kt Gold on Cable Chain and accented with Labradorite at Lobster Clasp
